Last week, Sapulpa's Fraternal Order of Police union announced that they were entering into interest arbitration over an ongoing contract dispute with the City of Sapulpa. More than a third of the police department has departed for greener pastures at state agencies or those that can afford to pay a higher wage—or they've left law enforcement altogether. The FOP says the primary reason officers are leaving is due to Sapulpa's inability to stay competitive regarding pay.
