Janice Marie Hoffman Brunk, a domestic goddess and wonderful homemaker, passed away February 13th in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, after a long illness. Janice was born February 11, 1942 in Hutchinson, Kansas to Marcus and Esther Hoffman. She was raised in Hutchinson, Kansas. She attended Saint Teresa’s Catholic grade school and high school, graduating in the class of 1960. In January of 1961, Janice married her high school sweetheart Gary D. Brunk who survives her. They celebrated 60 years together and enjoyed many Caribbean cruises and traveling together. Together they created and raised a fine family of four children she was very proud of, who survive her. Kevin Brunk, Hayden, Al.; Christine Brunk Vanek, Fremont, Ne.; Michael Brunk, Shreveport, La.; Darryl Brunk, Tyrone, Ga. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren as well as a sister, Linda Johnson of Allen, Tx. Her favorite pastimes throughout her life were raising her family, playing her Hammer Dulcimer music, and serving in Oklahoma Home & Community Education for 30+ years, along with enjoying the company of her many Red Hat friends for 18 years. To all of you she offers: Time it was, and what a time it was. It was a time of innocence, a time of confidences. Long ago, it must be, I have a photograph. Green Hill Funeral Home has been instructed to handle her funeral with final interment services by Saint Teresa’s Catholic Church and burial at Memorial Park Cemetery in Hutchinson, Kansas.
